Minna Exercises A, B and C without a partner

Move from a visible pattern to changed cues and a purposeful two-role exchange.

Give each section a different job

Use A to notice structure and transformations, then hide one cue and retrieve it. Attempt B independently before checking and preserve the first attempt. In C, identify participants, purpose and needed information; changing an underlined word alone does not establish interaction. This role distinction follows the second-edition description; inspect tasks in other editions.

Remove the named pattern before changing a condition

After B, respond to the situation without seeing the model or the named pattern. For C, record externally on your phone, playing each role in turn. Change a date or place and add a follow-up. Judge whether the invitation, confirmation or request succeeds rather than require one exact model wording.

Separate checkable forms from open responses

Check fixed forms and explicit passage facts against the book or key. For relationships, naturalness or pronunciation detail in a new exchange, provide the original, situation and target pattern to a teacher or informed partner. Ask about one uncertain choice; an English companion explains rules but does not assess every new response.

Example

Original exchange: 「日曜日に公園へ行きませんか。」「いいですね。何時ですか。」「午後三時に行きましょう。」Change the appointment to Saturday at the library.

Check your understanding

Complete the changed three-turn exchange without the model.

Explanation

Check the invitation, response and time. Verify forms in the book and assess naturalness in the stated relationship.
